Hey! If you have been following me for the last 2 1/2 years, you're probably wondering what happened to The Always with Me Podcast?!


 


There are a few reasons why I've changed the name of my podcast. One being that as a speaker/author and nonprofit leader, I found myself having a hard time promoting both brands all by myself! So, from now on, my personal brand will be the umbrella to my #allthethings and creating a podcast that reflected my life as an author and nonprofit leader just made sense!


 


Another reason to the change is that after 3 years of losing my best friend to suicide, I found my mental health in a very different place than when I was severely struggling with postpartum depression.


 


In my healing, I realized that I was healing a Diana that didn't feel like she was good enough. I wasn't a good enough mother, daughter, friend, business owner, and so on. I was healing something more than postpartum depression, I was healing a little Diana that has been struggling long before the death of her best friend.

Episode Summary:
Sara shares what it means to be a mindful person and she says that it’s about noticing the emotions you are feeling every day. Notice those feelings of anger, hurt, or even joy and use those as alarms.
As someone that deal with bipolar disorder and take medications every day, how do you find the space to still practice mindfulness? Are you reaction to things a side effect to your medications or are they really something that you are feeling? Sara says that it’s not only important to notice these emotions but to also track them. She suggests to download an app called, “Symptom tracker”. You can also present this information to your physician and be an advocate for yourself.
Sara talks on her mental health journey and how she have been able to cope through all of it in the last few years. She shares about the moment she has realized it was time to really look into taking medication and the stigma she first felt but the truth is that there is no shame in taking psychiatric medications! You are not alone and deserve healing.

Being Mindful with Sara Paye

Hey Mama! Have you ever felt angry over something and can’t seem to remember where that feeling came from in the first place? This is something that I’ve struggled with in Motherhood and even childhood! 
I am pushing 30 and I’ve reached a point in my life where I was exhausted with facing anger. Not only does it hurt me but my family was suffering as well.
Although I am still a working progress, here are two things I’ve done to start removing anger from my life.
How do You Feel When You’re Scrolling Through Social Media? 
I know, I’m guilty of this but does social media make you feel envious or angry? Really look at how it’s making you feel and ask yourself, is it worth it? If looking at certain posts is making you feel gross, remove yourself from it. You’re the priority here and it’s not selfish to remove yourself from something that does not align with you!

Be Careful with Who You Spend Your Time With.  
“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” – Jim Rohn 

Who are you spending your time with? Your time and energy is valuable and you want to give that energy to people that are going to lift you up. If surround yourself with positive energy, you will become a positive person.
For me personally, it was difficult to remove toxic people in my life. They were not attacking me personally but whenever I was around them, all I would hear are negativity and If I made any type of positive advice, I would get shut down! It was not a fun feeling but I let that continue for years! 
So, really look at your tribe. Are they supporting you? Are they encouraging you? If not, this could be another source of your anger and any other type of negative feeling.

Letting Go of Anger with Diana Collins

Hey ladies! Yes! The Always with Me Podcast is back and we are back for good! It’s been about a year since there has been a new episode and I am catching ya’ll up on all the things! 
For anyone that follows me on social media, I may look like I was “mentally stable” whatever that looks like! It basically looks like I had my shit together when when I didn’t. But, I have a confession, I don’t have my shit together and I have been keeping myself busy so that I didn’t have to do the “work” on myself. Unforntuany, by doing this, I was slowing hurting my marriage! That was the wake up call I needed to start practicing what I preach.

According to Postpartum Support International, 1 in 7 Mothers can be affected by a mood disorder. However, that is only counting the women who came forward about their illness.
Stefani and I shine some light on PMADs and what these disorders can really look like. Sleep is a big factor and sleep deprivation is not “just a part of motherhood.” Motherhood is a gift but we don’t have to give up on our wellbeing.

Sasha is a redneck, barefoot, rum and tequila drinking Southern Belle. Still trying to figure out what she wants to be when she grows up, she knows that anything involving Margaritas is a top choice.  
Raising a granddaughter, caring for a father who’s living in her yard and making sure her husband has clean underwear for all his travels keeps her busy, but she still scopes out recipes she'll never make on Pinterest, scrolls Facebook for old boyfriends and pretends she knows proper English.

Sasha shares her story of raising her Son as a single mother and later raising her granddaughter with her now husband. She talks about the difference in doing motherhood at a young age and doing it again once you're much older.
Sasha has always worked in corporate America and later decided that it was not what she wanted. So, she took the entrepreneur journey. Everything we go through life prepares you for that life that you are meant to have.
Choosing happiness as we go through trauma. This is something we have to choose every single day! Sure, we can get up and just try to survive but we only have this one precious life and we must live it!
I ask Sasha what was something she learned while raising her Granddaughter at a very different season in life. She shares how going through parenting the second time around was hard but you know more than you did the first time around.

Julie is a Wife and a Mom of two, going on three boys! On this week's episode, she shares about the struggles of having a child with ADHD and raising a newborn baby. All of these led her to her post-partum depression. It has been two years now and although she still struggles, like all of us, she is determined to be the best Mom for your boys! Julie is such an inspiration. To have to deal with a child that has medical issues and raise a newborn child at the same time. Something that I've learned these past few weeks is that us, Mamas are crazy strong! Something that Julie had mentioned to me was that she never once felt guilt for her negative thoughts. She knew that those thoughts were not of her own. Those voices we hear are lies! They want you to fail but you are going to prove them wrong! Motherhood is the hardest job out there but that's what we are made for! I hope this episode has lifted you up today because I know it did for me!
