An event came up recently that really pissed off Dr. Buske. He got really upset, but then he realized that meant it was owning him. It wasn’t until he took 100% responsibility for his part in it, that he flipped the script and owned the outcome. We create our own power and energy, and our choices might look very different from the next person. It’s about what is useful for you. Your output doesn’t have to match up with anyone else. Dr. Buske recently started his CrossFit journey, and it left him feeling very sore. He saw that his gym offered a trapeze yoga class, so he decided to give it a try to loosen up. When he walked in and saw the setup, he got intimidated. He moved through that trepidation, though, and by the end he felt so good. He had to wonder, though, how many people are missing out on something in life because they’re intimidated. Maybe it’s just allowing yourself to be silly with your kids, or it’s trying a new hobby. Do you ever just collide with someone else? You have a difference in opinion, but instead of just leaving it at that, you take it personally and get your emotions involved? We’ve all been there. How did you make it through Covid? A lot of people fell into the trap of anger about decisions already made, or worry about what’s to come. Dr. Buske handled it with faith, uncertainty, and clarity. He knew anger and worry wouldn’t serve him. He decided to have faith that this would pass. He admitted to himself that he doesn’t know 95% of the information out there, and that kept him curious. He also found he could better lead his team and family through this by being clear about his thoughts and feelings in the moment.

EP 153: Faith, Uncertainty And Clarity

Dr. Buske intended to get to the airport on time for his flight, but what exactly did that look like? The path wasn’t simply A to B. He was 13 miles out when he hit a wall of traffic. As he brought up his GPS, it informed him it was going to take an hour and 13 minutes to go the next 13 miles. Not wanting to miss his flight, Dr. Buske made a choice. He chose to drive down the shoulder for 8 miles, with other motorists angry and honking. It wasn’t pretty, but it got him to the gate just in time. The path is seldom A to B and often comes down to choices and course correction. Where in your life do you need to accept a messy path to the intended goal? Where can you pivot your plan to get unstuck?

What is clarity to you? During a recent meditation, Dr. Buske realized that it can be an ending to inner conflict. When we’re not clear, there’s often a cloud of confusion and uncertainty, and maybe even fear. The next time you’re not clear, start with making a commitment. Commitment breeds courage, courage yields clarity, and clarity delivers confidence. When we’re not fully committed, we can confuse the universe about what we want. Right now, Dr. Buske wants to sell his home, and he’s committed to making it happen. Once he got really committed, everything else fell into place. We all live by our foundation, it sets the tone for everything else. Dr Buske’s foundation is built on one solid piece, integrity. EP 150: If You Can’t See It, You Can’t Fix It

Selling a home can be scary and wrought with pressure. When Dr. Buske’s realtor called him the other day about a serious buyer, he felt like they would have an offer by morning. The offer did come towards the end of the next day, and Dr. Buske’s wife told him they’d discuss it when he got home shortly. By the time he got home, the buyers had already backed out. Dr. Buske was upset at first, until he remembered an old saying: “some will, some won’t, so what, someone else is waiting”. When you have this type of attitude, whether it's towards selling a house, or selling new patients, it pulls you out of a scarcity mindset and propels you towards abundance. EP 148: I Would Die For…

Just before beginning a couple hour long MRI appointment, Dr. Buske had been talking to a friend about when it’s not the right time for something. Over the next couple of hours, he had plenty of opportunity to consider what makes it the right time for something. Is it when it’s convenient? It's Not Convenient

Summer is prime time for water sports, so the Buske family was excited to get back on their boat after it had been in the shop for 6 weeks. After some tubing and swimming, it was time to water surf, Jeff’s favorite. Just as they were getting going, the boat began to overheat.
