On today's pod (S1E8) Ryan is excited about Liverpool's chances to win the premier league while John throws shade. In today's episode of the Language Barrier Podcast (S1E7), Ryan shares he's sad to see John head back to College in Oregon. John is creeped out about facebook/apple and their unwelcome role as big brother. Ryan mentions his cyberwar conspiracy theory. Ex-French Open Champion, Adriano Penata calls tennis boring and says that Milos Raonic should not play tennis at all. Penata states that all tennis players play the same and Ryan agrees. John points out that it is too easy to pass net rushers in today's game. Ryan debates that the reason players rarely rush the net in today's game is not because of the speed of the game or technology, but because there is an entire generation of kids who have not learned how to play at the net. Tsitsipas and his stellar net play may be a sign that more players in the years to come will be countering the baseline game by attacking the net more often. Osaka can't volley! Ivo Karlovic is 40+ years old and still effective on tour as a serve and volleyer. John is disappointed that Neymar Jr. is out with an injury and will potentially miss the rest of the season including the big Champions League match versus Manchester United. Ryan shares his lessons as a coach with local Colorado juniors, international juniors, and professional players.. patience is crucial and it's complicated!
