Finding your truth

Motivation is a myth! Yes I said it. It’s a bunch of bull crap. In this episode I talk about one of my favorite books I am reading now call The Motivation Myth: How High Achievers Really Set Themselves Up to Win by Jeff Haden. This book talks about how motivation is a non-concrete way of getting things done. How, sometimes, you just need to grind it out and get after it. Drugs, Sex and Online dating with homicidal women.... Well minus the drugs.
Jay Two! John Odom is a father of two who courted his wife via online dating. He has a diverse background growing up. He is that guy who shows up to work before everyone and leaves after everyone. He is one of the humblest men I have ever met, and yet very personable. John is a Rescue Swimmer Instructor for the US Navy while his storied are a little corky, they are way to funny not to listen to. This podcast is a must listen to.

Sex, online dating, homicidal women and John Odom

“welp mother f#$ker… Looks like you’re going to need another coat” says one of the guys that Mike knew and worked with in the Navy, as he stared out into snow that was pounding down sidewise.
The good ole days, when men were men. Where have they all gone, some might ask. Mike Gendreau is an old order Aviation Rescue Swimmer. While in the Navy, he was taught by guys coming back from Vietnam. Mike has a plethora of Rescues, including the only rescue of a SR-71 blackbird crew, that was just recently declassified.
Mike and his wife raised both of their daughters while they were on active duty in military, working separate night and day shifts, so they could raise their children and avoid not put them in day care. Mike has amazing advice and prospective, on life. The sacrifices he made in raising his two girls are unparalleled. This episode with Mike Gendreau is a must listen to!

SR71 Resuce and how Mike Gendreau raised his daughters

Imagine you’re 15 years old, standing in front of your house that’s one fire. You’re then told that your mother was inside. The bad news is it only gets worse from here. You find out your mother was murdered by your father, and your family starts stealing what money your sister and you must live on. To top it all off you must testify against your own father, in the months to come, in his 1st degree murder trial.
Shelly Edwards Jorgensen, is an amazing woman. She has had unfathomable trials throughout her life. Trials that would break your average person. She is writing a book called Beautiful Ashes that, can show how anyone, even though the toughest hardship can find the beauty and joy in the darkest corners of life. Ever see that parent that hovers over their children and protect their kids from pain but also keeps them from learning Chris’s kid runs for school president and the lessons learned from that as a parent.
