Seven Keys to Understanding Prophecy

Western culture is changing radically and rapidly. Collective belief in the God of the Bible is clearly waning as shown in numerous surveys.
 Don Feder, in a March 29, 2022 Washington Times opinion piece, wrote:

The study by the prestigious American Enterprise Institute--“Generation Z and the future of faith in America” (released on March 24)--shows a steady erosion of religious affiliation and the corresponding rise of atheism and agnosticism. (“The fatal fall of religion in America will affect everything,” The Washington Times, March 29, 2022). 

Some may wonder whether this trend is harmful to our modern nations, but Feder warned:

This just-published survey of the decline of religion in America should set off alarm bells in our heads. The growth of secularism is one more cause for anxiety about the future of our republic.

What happens to individuals and nations when they forget their Creator? The False Prophet of Revelation

Generals, dictators, and despots have tried to rule the world. Their capital cities were monumental and impressive. King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon built one of the designated Seven Wonders of the World, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. The historian Herodotus wrote, “In addition to its size, Babylon surpasses in splendor any city in the known world.”

The Bible documents the King’s great pride and boasting over his accomplishments. The prophet Daniel had warned the king to humble himself. “At the end of the twelve months he [King Nebuchadnezzar] was walking about the royal palace of Babylon. The king spoke, saying, ‘Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for a royal dwelling by my mighty power and for the honor of my majesty?’” (Daniel 4:29-30).

God punished King Nebuchadnezzar, who finally learned his lesson: “Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all of whose works are truth, and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to put down.” (Daniel 4:37).

The Nazi dictator, Adolph Hitler, in his plan to rule the world, envisioned a world capital to last a thousand years. Albert Speer, Hitler’s architect for the future city, planned a Grand Hall next to the Reichstag that “would have been the largest enclosed space in the world, with a dome 16 times larger than that of St Peter’s in Rome” according to HistoryToday.com. (“Germania: Hitler’s Dream Capital”)

Of course, Hitler fell before the Allied armies in World War II.

Bible prophecy reveals that another great dictator, called the “Beast” in the book of Revelation, will desire to rule the world and establish his own capital. As it tells us in Revelation 13:7, “And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation.”

The good news is that the coming King of kings will conquer and destroy this coming Beast power (Revelation 17:14) and Jesus Christ will establish a righteous world capital city. What city will become the capital of the world? In spite of today’s conflicts, Jerusalem in Israel will soon become the glorious capital of the world. Does that sound impossible? Russia, Ukraine, and Bible Prophecy

More than two billion professing Christians observe Sunday as their day of worship. 
And yet, millions of others observe Saturday, the seventh day of the week, as their day of worship.

In fact, monuments and plaques of the Ten Commandments were posted in public buildings for centuries until recent years. 
The Fourth Commandment begins “REMEMBER the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” (Exodus 20:8). 
That command was on the tablets God gave to Moses in the fifteenth century BC. 
But WHEN did God ESTABLISH the seventh-day Sabbath that was to be remembered?

When the New Testament Christian Church began on the day of Pentecost in 31 AD, first-century Christians observed the seventh-day Sabbath. 
It was not until the Council of Laodicea in 363 AD that the Roman Church forbade seventh-day Sabbath-keeping, making Sunday the official day of worship, following Emperor Constantine’s empire-wide edict in 321 AD.

So, does God in heaven want you to worship Him on just any day?

The Christian Sabbath Saturday or Sunday?

Some atheists have waged war against the Ten Commandments in recent decades, forcing monuments off public property wherever they find them. One famous case involved Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore, who placed a monument of the Ten Commandments in the judicial building rotunda in Montgomery, the state capitol. 

This caused no small controversy.

After a lengthy legal battle, the monument was removed from the rotunda and Roy Moore was removed from his judgeship. 

In another famous incident, a monument displaying the Ten Commandments at the Arkansas State Capitol was destroyed by a man who deliberately crashed his car into it less than 24 hours after it had been erected.

The same individual destroyed another display by the same method a year earlier in Oklahoma, but was this only an act of one crazed man? 
As reported by the Associated Press: 

The Oklahoma Supreme Court ordered the removal of a Ten Commandments display from its Capitol in 2015, and the state’s voters in 2016 rejected an initiative aimed at allowing the monument to return. (“Arkansas replaces Ten Commandments monument at state Capitol,” Times Record, April 26, 2018).

Some professing Christians are rightfully angered by the assault against this God-given code of law, yet surprisingly, the greatest enemy to the commandments is not atheists.
